You will implement the approved preschool curriculum, assess student development, and coordinate with interventionists under the Principal's supervision to support early learning readiness.

The role requires a valid teaching certificate for the required grades, strong communication with families, and adherence to state policies.

Qualifications

Valid teaching certificate licensing the individual to teach in the specializations and grade levels, pursuant to WV Code §18A-3-2.
Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code §18-5-15c and/or §18A-3-10, as appropriate.
Meet the qualifications outlined in WV Code §18A-3-2a.

Responsibilities

Implement the preschool program as outlined in WVDE Policy 2525.
Plan and implement JC Schools’ Pre K curriculum based on WV Content Standards and Objectives.
Implement appropriate technology strategies where applicable.
Observe, record, and analyze children’s progress toward developmental outcomes.
Use ongoing observation and documentation to assess progress, growth and development.
Collaborate with interventionists, share data, identify student needs, and support targeted interventions.
Maintain strong communication with students, parents and peers.
Create a developmentally appropriate learning environment and individualized activities.
Perform duties incidental to the position and assist Principal as assigned.
