Job summary

West Virginia K-12 Jobs is seeking a Pre-K Special Needs Teacher (Anticipated) for Jefferson County Schools in West Virginia. The role supports students with special needs, aligns instruction with WV standards, and develops IEPs under WV policy requirements.

The position offers a 200-day-plus school year, with compensation commensurate with experience and educational attainment per the Jefferson County Teacher Salary Schedule.

Qualifications

• Valid teaching certificate licensing the individual to teach in the specializations and grade levels.
• Criminal background check conducted as per WV Code requirements.
• Meet the qualifications outlined in WV Code §18A-3-2a.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement Jefferson County Schools’ curriculum based on WV Content Standards and Objectives.
• Develop and implements Individual Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with Policy 2419.
• Implement adopted and supplemental academic programs.
• Utilize 21st Century technology skills in instruction.
• Monitor student progress towards instructional objectives and goals on the IEPs.
• May plan and implement designated co-curricular activities and/or programs at the school.
• Administer approved formative assessments.
• Plan and implement tiered instruction for reading and math where applicable.
• Maintain professional responsibilities and classroom climate.
• Join additional duties assigned by the Principal.
