Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
• Certification or licensure in Special Education as required by the state of Maine.
• Experience with preschool-aged children with developmental delays or disabilities.
• Strong knowledge of early childhood development and special education practices.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting young children and their families.

Responsibilities

• Implement IEPs based on assessments and goals.
• Deliver developmentally appropriate lessons for social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Use behavior analytic teaching methods to meet diverse needs.
• Collaborate with speech, occupational, physical therapists and other specialists.
• Provide supervision and training of Educational Technicians & Behavior Health Professionals.
• Monitor and document each child’s progress and adjust strategies.
• Communicate with families regularly to support learning and address concerns.
• Foster an inclusive classroom where all students feel valued.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized classroom that meets regulatory requirements.
• Participate in ongoing professional development in early childhood special education.
