Job summary

The City of San Antonio is seeking a dedicated Pre-K classroom assistant to support learning experiences for children ages birth to 4 in the Pre-K 4 SA program at Model Education Centers and partner sites. Under immediate supervision, you will help implement curriculum, prepare materials, and assist with daily activities, safety, and record-keeping.

This temporary, at-will position requires punctuality on a long schedule 6:45 a.m.–6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with varying locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to pass required background checks and screenings.
• Willingness to work in multiple locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing early-age curriculum and classroom activities.
• Prepare learning materials and maintain an organized classroom.
• Observe student progress and communicate with educators.
• Support safety and supervision at transportation sites and classrooms.
• Maintain student records and assist with reporting as needed.
• Collaborate with staff during breaks and participate in professional development.
