Job summary

Crandall Independent School District seeks a Paraprofessional - Teacher Assistant to support students with disabilities, implementing IEPs and assisting with daily activities inside and outside the classroom.

You will work under supervision of a certified teacher and a campus principal, helping with instruction, behavior management, and skill development across prekindergarten through elementary levels.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• Basic first aid and CPR knowledge required.
• Ability to work with children with disabilities.
• Ability to follow verbal and written directions.
• Able to communicate effectively with students, staff and parents.

Responsibilities

• Assist with cognitive/academic skills development.
• Use communication systems/devices with students.
• Support self-help and daily living skills per IEP.
• Promote social inclusion during activities and meals.
• Implement discipline per teacher guidance.
• Provide instruction as defined by the student’s IEP.
• Assist with personal care and monitor health as needed.
• Record data and report progress to the teacher.
