Job summary

Gray Construction is seeking a Project Engineer based in Birmingham, AL to assist in the pre-construction phase by estimating project costs and coordinating bids with subcontractors. Your role will include developing accurate quantity takeoffs and supporting proposal development.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree, with at least two years of relevant experience in non-residential construction projects. Strong proficiency in business software and excellent communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years related experience and/or training.
• Energetic, self-motivated individual passionate about collaboration.
• Ability to utilize the Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Support pre-construction efforts on assigned pursuits.
• Develop accurate quantity takeoffs and estimate backup documentation.
• Assist with preparation of conceptual and detailed budgets.
• Coordinate with internal teams for constructability support.
• Participate in pre-construction meetings and reviews.

Skills

Proficient in standard business and pre-construction software tools

Strong communication skills

Basic computer skills including Microsoft applications

Experience with non-residential construction projects
