Job summary

Gray is seeking a skilled Pre-Construction Coordinator to support pursuits and projects in Birmingham, AL. You will assist with estimating, quantity takeoffs, scope development, and pricing analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and minimum of two years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient in standard business and pre-construction software tools, including document preparation, spreadsheets, email, and estimating-related applications.
• Experience with large-scale, non-residential construction projects is preferred.
• Basic computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support pre-construction efforts on assigned pursuits and projects.
• Assist with estimating, quantity takeoffs, scope development, and pricing analysis.
• Develop quantity takeoffs, pricing inputs, and estimate backup documentation.
• Assist with conceptual and detailed budgets, documenting assumptions and identifying questions or gaps.
• Coordinate with operations, design management, procurement, and scheduling teams to support constructability, phasing, and pricing accuracy.
• Assist with trade partner and vendor outreach and proposal reviews.
• Confirm scope alignment and clarify risks or discrepancies.
• Support proposal development and pre-construction deliverables, including exhibits, narratives, scope matrices, and related documentation.
• Participate in pre-construction meetings and reviews.
• Prepare meeting materials, document action items, and support follow-up.
