UMass Amherst is seeking a Pre Award Research Administrator to strengthen and extend research funding within the College of Engineering. The role performs diverse administrative, financial, and pre-award activities for a high-volume, complex grant portfolio in a fast-paced environment.

The position reports to the Director of Research Development Services and supports interdisciplinary proposals, research centers, and multi-PI submissions, with a hybrid or remote work arrangement.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree with 4 years of related experience or Associate's degree with 6 years of related experience.
• Proven pre-award financial management experience, including proposal development and management.
• Familiarity with award mechanisms (grants, contracts, subcontracts, cooperative agreements).
• Knowledge of program administration guidelines for federal and non-federal funding agencies.

Mansioni

• Manages development and internal approval of research proposals and contracts for submission to funding sources.
• Develops budgets and budget narratives to support project activities; drafts and edits proposal documents.
• Provides consultation and leadership to assist faculty with proposal development, reviews, and compliance approvals (IRB, IACUC, COI).
• Serves as liaison between Principal Investigator and OPAS for pre-award matters; coordinates with stakeholders to resolve issues.
