The role requires supervisory experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to train staff in a fast-paced academic environment, located at the Main UNCW Campus.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree and three years of relevant experience; or, on an exceptional basis, a bachelor's degree and five or more years of pre-award research administration experience.
  • At least three years of pre-award research administration experience within a centralized research administration office.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all pre-award activities for SPARC, supervising staff and advising investigators on proposals and budget analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with sponsor guidelines, Uniform Guidance, FARs/DFARs, and University policies in proposal development.
  • Coordinate with university offices and external sponsors to resolve pre-award issues and support data integrity in electronic systems.
  • Train staff and clients on pre-award processes and maintain effective communication with stakeholders.
