Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; some college in healthcare administration preferred.
• 1 year of experience in scheduling, pre-certification, or registration in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of insurance verification and pre-certification processes.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physician offices, and internal departments.

Responsibilities

• Schedule diagnostic tests and procedures in accordance with hospital protocols and enter data into scheduling systems.
• Verify insurance information, obtain pre-certification/authorization, and enter information into scheduling/registration systems.
• Respond to inquiries from patients, physician offices, and third-party payers with accurate scheduling information.
• Maintain communication with registration staff to ensure unscheduled patients receive appropriate testing.
• Assist in pre-registration processes, including collecting demographic and insurance information.
• Document all communications related to pre-certifications, insurance verification, and scheduling updates in the EMR.
• Maintain knowledge of billing procedures and applicable regulations to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with financial counselors to assist patients with financial assistance screening and payment arrangements.
