Job summary

The Cleveland Clinic is seeking a Pre-Analytics Team Leader who will manage the department’s courier training program and ensure compliance and safety guidelines are met. You will onboard and train new couriers and liaison with vendor couriers to keep training up-to-date, maintaining service standards across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Requires Associate’s Degree with 3 years Laboratory experience or HS diploma with 5 years experience.
  • Leadership experience and ability to train and onboard staff.
  • Knowledge of safety/compliance guidelines and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead local work group in daily operations including staffing, service levels, quality and safety.
  • Participate in hiring process and provide input on employee performance and evaluations.
  • Investigate and resolve routine operational problems and patient issues.
  • Escalate complex problems to Supervisor/Manager.
  • Drive local root cause analysis and implement improvements.
  • Provide responses to quality concerns and inform senior management of critical issues.
  • Drive frontline employee engagement and recognition.
  • Facilitate development for lead techs.
  • Lead and provide Talent Management for team leaders.
  • Oversee onboarding and training of all employees.
  • Order and maintain adequate supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Pre-Analytics Team Leader is responsible for the department’s courier training program and ensuring that the department adheres to all applicable safety and compliance guidelines. This position is critical to ensuring that new couriers are properly onboarded and trained prior to performing specimen routes on their own. You will serve as the training liaison for our vendor couriers, ensuring that the vendor couriers are receiving the latest updates to our training program and all applicable compliance/safety guidelines (maintaining the same level of service provided by CC couriers).

A caregiver in this position works full-time| days| 7:00am—4:00pm or 8:00am—5:00pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:
  • Lead local work group in daily operations including staffing, service levels, quality and safety.
  • Participate in hiring process as well as input on employee performance, including corrective actions and evaluations.
  • Investigate and resolve routine operational problems and patient issues.
  • Escalate complex problems to Supervisor/Manager.
  • Drive local root cause analysis and implementation of improvements and counter measures.
  • Provide response to local quality concerns and inform critical issues to senior management.
  • Drive front line employee engagement and recognition.
  • Facilitate development for lead techs.
  • Lead and provide Talent Management for team leaders.
  • Oversee onboarding and training of all employees.
  • Order and maintain adequate supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Associate’s Degree and three years of Laboratory experience
  • OR High School Diploma/GED and five years of experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or a related field (with one year of experience may substitute for experience required)
  • Leadership experience (does not need be direct reports, can be team lead)
  • 5+ years of phlebotomy experience
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
  • Ability to travel throughout the hospital system and, in some locations, off-site.
Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
Pay Range

Minimum Annual Salary: $52,270.00

Maximum Annual Salary: $79,727.50

A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
