UChicago Medicine in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Pre Analytical Technician in the Clinical Chemistry Laboratory – Hyde Park. This 100% onsite role supports specimen receipt, pre-analytic processing, and QA activities to ensure accurate results for physicians and patients.
You’ll perform phlebotomy, specimen prep, storage, and clerical tasks, with a night shift (11:00pm–7:30am) Tuesday–Saturday, based at the Hyde Park campus. Sign-on bonus eligible up to $1,500.

Here, you will be responsible for the provision of specimen receipt, assessment, pre-analytical processing services, and responsible for aspects of quality assurance including verification of missing information, exception handling, and activating specimen rejection per laboratory policies. This is the Clinical Chemistry department. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area.
Eligible for a Sign-On Bonus up to $1,500 The Pre Analytical Technician adheres to laboratory policies and procedures including all applicable regulatory agency requirements in order to provide results of the highest level of quality to physicians and their patients. Pre-analytical technicians may perform phlebotomy specimen collection and assist in bone marrows procedures as needed.

Position Details
In this role, we anticipate that you will generally work approximately 40 hours per week. We anticipate that you will generally be scheduled to work a night shift, from approximately 11:00pm - 7:30am, and will not be scheduled for on-call shifts. We anticipate you will be scheduled to work 100% at the Hyde Park campus. The days of the week that you are scheduled may vary depending on the week, but we anticipate that you will be scheduled to work Tuesday - Saturday.

Compensation & Benefits Overview
UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.
The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
