Job Description:

Provides receptionist and clerical support in preparing, coordinating, and compiling patient records, answering phones, and scheduling appointments.

Scope

In the role of Pre Access Specialist, you need to know how to:

  1. Coordinate patient encounter utilizing multiple system applications, including registration applications, clinical operating systems, eligibility verification systems, medical necessity applications, and scanning repositories.
  2. Identify copay and deductibles, communicate patient financial responsibility prior to the date of service, and collect such responsibilities before service.
  3. Coordinate self-pay patient flow to Financial Counselors or program eligibility vendors for assistance with public benefits, financial aid, or payment at the time of service.
  4. Review input and audit quality to ensure accuracy, especially regarding patient type, financial class, and insurance codes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1 year of medical office experience or experience in a professional office setting (Highly Preferred)
  • Prior registration or insurance authorization experience

Note: The following states are currently paused for sourcing new candidates or relocation requests: California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington.

Physical Requirements:

  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to operate computers and office equipment, requiring fine motor skills.
  • Visual ability to read monitors and documents.
  • Sustained sitting or standing for long periods.
  • May require lifting, bending, kneeling, and reaching.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

The hourly rate ranges from $18.81 to $24.26, depending on experience.
