Job summary

Child & Family Services of Newport County seeks a qualified clinician to help clients and families identify goals, assess functioning, and develop treatment plans.

The role includes delivering two 2-hour treatment sessions per week per client, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with collateral contacts. A flexible schedule, statewide travel, and a 20% remote work arrangement are expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field is required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role; trauma-informed and substance use treatment a plus.
  • On-call as needed; state travel required.
  • Must have valid driver’s license, auto insurance and car registration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365; strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with a diverse population; bilingual in Spanish preferred.

What You’ll Be Doing

Hybrid Role, 20% Remote Work.

Your Main Priorities

While additional responsibilities are likely to arise on the job, you will primarily:

  • Work with clients and their family members and caregivers to identify opportunities and goals, assess functioning, develop a treatment plan, and assist in achieving desired outcomes.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, family members and caregivers, and identify referring or collateral professionals and agencies.
  • Collaborate with collateral contacts as needed.
  • Provide two 2-hour treatment sessions per week with each client/family assigned.
  • Flexible in providing services according to the client’s needs.
  • Maintains client records accurately, completes documentation requirements timely.
Who You Are

Requirements, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work of related field required; Master of Social Work degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role required; experience with trauma-informed and substance use treatment a plus.
  • On call as needed.
  • State wide travel is required.
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, and time-management skills.
  • Basic computer skills required; knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Ability to communicate and effectively interact with a diverse population.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Collaboration and teamwork.
  • Must authorize Child & Family to complete a motor vehicle records check.
  • Must have valid driver's license, auto insurance and car registration.
  • The ideal candidate will be required to meet all background checks and medical clearances required for the position.
Physical Requirements

This position requires time sitting, standing, walking, driving, carrying and lifting up to 25lbs. This role also requires operating desktop, laptop and/or cell phone, and communicating with colleagues.
