Job summary

Child & Family in Rhode Island is seeking an FCT‑R Practitioner to complete Wheels of Change training and field work aimed at in-home mental health and/or substance use treatment to keep families together. You will collaborate with a team of practitioners and Peer Recovery Specialists to promote recovery and stability in the home.

This hybrid role requires 20% remote work and travel statewide. You will conduct two 2‑hour sessions weekly per family, develop treatment plans, build relationships

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field required; Master of Social Work degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role required; trauma-informed and substance use treatment experience a plus.
  • On call as needed.
  • State wide travel is required.
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, and time-management skills.
  • Basic computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Ability to communicate and effectively interact with a diverse population.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Collaboration and teamwork.
  • Must authorize Child & Family to complete a motor vehicle records check.
  • Must have valid driver’s licence, auto insurance and car registration.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will complete the Wheels of Change and field training to become a certified FCT and FCT‑R Practitioner. The FCT‑R Practitioner will provide in‑home mental health and/or substance use treatment with the intent to keep families together, based on the Family Centered Treatment Model. You will support clients and families on their mental health and/or recovery journey by collaborating with a team of practitioners and Peer Recovery Specialists to promote recovery, stability, and the ability to maintain the family within the home.

Hybrid Role, 20% Remote Work.

Your Main Priorities

While additional responsibilities are likely to arise on the job, you will primarily:

Physical Requirements

Direct Service Staff:

This position requires time sitting, standing, walking, driving, carrying and lifting up to 25lbs. This role also requires operating desktop, laptop and/or cell phone, and communicating with colleagues.
