Lincolnshire County Council is looking for an experienced social worker to lead and develop adoption and kinship support services. You will oversee the use of the Adoption and Special Guardianship support fund and drive regional innovations in partnership with other authorities.
You will work with families to empower solutions, using Signs of Safety, and support adults seeking access to records and birth family connections.
There's never been a more exciting time to join our adoption service: alongside making a difference to the lives of children and families in Lincolnshire, we're sharing best practice and driving innovation alongside other authorities by being a member of the Family Adoption Links regional partnership. Our people are at the heart of this progress: that's why we make sure they have access to the best support, development, and training opportunities. Staff will also have access to regional training and attending national working groups, in addition to the excellent training on offer from Lincolnshire. Adoption social work is challenging - we're making sure it's challenging for the right reasons. Lincolnshire is an Outstanding Authority who specialise in providing excellent adoption services and support for children and young people who have diverse needs because of their early experiences. We endeavour to create an admission experience that is individually tailored to the needs of children in our care, enabling them to express their characters, feel safe and enrich their lives. This is an exciting and diverse role that allows creativity and the development of our services to families. The post holder will have oversight of the council's use of the Adoption and Special Guardianship support fund, which provides tailored therapeutic support to adopted children and those who are cared for under Special Guardianship or Child Arrangement orders. The role also includes the development and review of local, regional and pan regional innovations, including peer support and voice and influence of those with lived experience of adoption and kinship care. The role also involves the development and improvement work nationally through our links to Adoption England. This role has oversight for the support of others impacted by adoption such as those adults wishing to access their records and the birth families who have lost a child to adoption, supporting the staying in touch arrangements for children and families across the county. Day to day, you'll be using our Signs of Safety methodology to support staff to collaborate with families and empower them to find their own solutions. In accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 (Fluency Duty), the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post. Our values - collaborative, adaptable, eco-conscious, supportive, and responsible - guide everything we do. We're looking for candidates who share these values and bring them to life in their work, helping us build strong teams and make a real difference in the communities we serve. Along with a competitive salary of £48,738 - £54,143
