Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Practice Operations Specialist to support anesthesia administration. The role is hybrid with 3 days on site at Fesler Hall in Indianapolis, IN, coordinating provider scheduling, payroll, and workforce data management.

You will engage with leaders, physicians, and staff to streamline operations, manage data reporting, and support budgeting and policy implementation while maintaining high attention to detail across multiple priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 2–4 years of professional office experience (preferably healthcare) or an advanced degree may be accepted in lieu.
  • Masters of Health Administration or MBA may be accepted in lieu of experience.
  • Experience with scheduling, payroll, and data management preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate provider scheduling, payroll and compensation processes.
  • Manage workforce data management and operational communications.
  • Monitor budgets and practice targets; evaluate policies and procedures.
  • Provide liaison between leaders, providers, staff, and administrative teams.
  • Provide interim managerial support in the absence of a Practice Administrator or Clinic Manager.

This position will be hybrid with 3 days required on site at Fesler Hall in Indianapolis, IN.

Join a team that plays a critical role in supporting more than 200 physicians and advanced practice providers across multiple hospitals. As a Practice Operations Specialist, you'll help ensure the seamless coordination of provider scheduling, payroll and compensation processes, workforce data management, and operational communications. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on organization, enjoys solving complex problems, has a strong attention to detail, and takes pride in building relationships while supporting providers and leaders in a dynamic healthcare setting. Minimum Candidate Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 2-4 years professional office experience (preferably healthcare related), and familiarity with health care organizations required. Masters of Health Administration or Masters of Business Administration may be accepted in lieu of experience.
  • Accounting, Business, Management, Science or Health Administration concentration preferred.
Preferred
  • Background in business administration, finance, accounting, payroll, operations, workforce management, or healthcare administration.
  • Experience managing schedules, staffing data, timekeeping, payroll processes, or compensation-related reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review, validate, and maintain accurate workforce and compensation data
  • Experience serving as a liaison between multiple stakeholders, including leaders, providers, staff, and administrative teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other data management or reporting systems.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and appropriately escape concerns when needed.
Core Competencies
  • Provides support in practice operations for the organization and reports to the Service Line Administrator.
  • Will monitor budgets and practice targets, evaluate and implement policies and procedures, manage projects, and work with all levels of management and physicians to accomplish goals.
  • Provides interim managerial support in the absence of a Practice Administrator and or Clinic Manager.
