Job Summary

The Practice Medical Receptionist on the OB/GYN team performs a wide range of administrative and support functions for the department. They serve as a primary point of contact for patients and provide excellent customer service through clear communication. Responsibilities include:

  • Handling all calls appropriately and courteously
  • Registering patients and scheduling appointments via Epic
  • Verifying insurance eligibility using PASSPORT
  • Maintaining and supporting both paper and electronic medical records
  • Collecting, processing, and reconciling co-pays to be deposited
  • Providing financial support by processing charges, reconciling daily receipts, and correcting billing errors
  • Assisting healthcare providers with electronic and paper correspondence
  • Participating in departmental meetings and on a planned care team
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1 year of outpatient medical setting experience preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole preferred
  • Experience working on a Planned Care Team preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail required
