Job summary

Lvi-Associates, a nationally recognized engineering and consulting firm, seeks a Practice Lead - Water Resources in Houston to drive the growth of the Texas practice and oversee complex hydrology and hydraulics projects. You will mentor staff, develop client relationships, and lead strategic growth initiatives across municipal and state sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 12+ years of water resources engineering experience.
• Proven experience leading teams and managing client relationships.
• Strong background in hydrology and hydraulics modeling (H&H).
• Experience with the listed modeling tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Houston Water Resources practice.
• Manage and develop a team of engineers, project managers, and technical staff.
• Drive business development efforts and expand existing client relationships.
• Oversee the delivery of complex hydrology and hydraulics projects.
• Provide technical leadership on flood risk management, drainage, stormwater, and watershed projects.
• Develop strategic growth plans and support regional expansion initiatives.
• Lead project pursuits, proposals, interviews, and contract negotiations.
• Collaborate with leaders across transportation, land development, and water infrastructure groups.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and support succession planning.
• Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

About the Opportunity

A nationally recognized engineering and consulting firm is seeking a Practice Lead - Water Resources to help drive the continued growth of its Houston operations. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an experienced water resources professional who enjoys combining technical expertise, team leadership, client development, and business strategy.

The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding the firm's water resources presence across Texas, leading complex projects, mentoring technical staff, and strengthening relationships with municipal, county, drainage, and state agency clients.

• Experience with tools such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, InfoWorks ICM, XP-SWMM, or similar.
• Demonstrated success winning and delivering municipal or public-sector projects.
• Strong communication, leadership, and business development skills.
