Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teach the equivalent of 24 credit hours/year (12-month appointment) or 21 credit hours/year (9-month appointment), as applicable, unless otherwise defined by the employment contract as approved by the Chief Academic Officer. The teaching load is inclusive of the fall, spring, and summer instructional terms with course assignments approved by the supervisor and Dean of Instruction. Overload course assignments may be authorized and limited to the equivalent of 12 credit hours/year.
  • Ensure program course offerings, program curriculum standards, student and program learning outcomes, and assessment processes are accurate and current across all areas of instructional responsibility.
  • Supervise the implementation of industry-based certifications and credentials focused on employability competencies into program and course-level curricula.
  • Supervise program faculty and staff, including weekly timesheet approvals and employee leave requests.
  • Plan, manage, and monitor annual budget and expenses for the educational program(s), instructional site(s), and faculty professional development activities.
  • Manage program-level student advising operations and work directly with the Registrar's office regarding course articulations, transfer credits, and prior-learning assessments.
  • Establish and facilitate data collection and analysis timelines to align with institutional planning and program evaluation processes.
  • Regularly visit campus locations and instructional sites that support program activity.
  • Coordinate and support program-level advisory board meetings and community stakeholder meetings; represent LDCC and the assigned program(s) of study on local, state, and regional boards and training alliances, as applicable.
  • Work directly with the Chief Academic Officer, Deans of lnstruction, Program Directors, and the Offices of Institutional Effectiveness and Research regarding curriculum development and enhancement, accreditation compliance, and student success assessments.
  • Lead institutional initiatives, short-term, and long-term planning specifically regarding budgets, faculty workloads, and program needs.
  • Monitor and maintain the quality and currency of the book and periodical collections in the Library and Learning Resources Center to support program health and student success.
  • Prepare semester program course schedules and supervise learning resource adoptions.
  • Create and maintain programmatic course syllabi.
  • Recommend appropriate and current equipment, perform equipment inventories, maintain equipment in good working condition, and take necessary steps to ensure student safety around equipment.
  • Recruit, mentor, and evaluate qualified instructors for full‑time and adjunct positions, as needed.
  • Recommend appropriate people to serve on committees, attend advisory committee meetings, and ensure all faculty are informed regarding all institutional initiatives and critical reporting deadlines.
  • Facilitate data collection and analysis timelines to support academic planning, instructional program evaluation, and seek continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate and supervise the updating of all web pages, the college catalog, and informational recruiting brochures for programs.
  • Collaborate with K-12 and post‑secondary institutions to expand dual enrollment, articulation agreements, and student transition pathways.
  • Serve on college committees and councils as assigned.
  • Assist in the planning, implementation, and assessment of the College's Strategic Plan.
  • Demonstrate and abide by the LDCC Standards of Practice and foster mutual respect among program faculty and students.
  • Assume all other reasonable professional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Education

A practical nurse coordinator shall be a registered nurse with three years of nursing experience. At least one of these three years must have been as a medical-surgical hospital staff nurse providing direct patient care. An applicant for nurse instructor must have practiced as a nurse for a minimum of six full‑time months during the three years immediately preceding application. The successful candidate must also be service-oriented, promote excellence, and embrace a commitment to professionalism. Applicants should have demonstrated commitment to the philosophy and mission of Louisiana Delta Community College. Applicant should also demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students, faculty, and staff from a variety of backgrounds.
