Job Description Summary
The Part-time Practical Nursing Clinical Instructor at Cone Health, will be responsible for face-to-face clinical teaching assignments for the practical nursing program. The individual will teach clinicals in Guilford County at Cone Health. The hours and shifts for this position are flexible and can vary.
Minimum Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in nursing. Note: Degrees and hours must be from a college accredited by a United States Department of Education accepted accrediting agency such as SACSCOC .
- Minimum of two years of recent clinical nursing experience
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Teaching or clinical instruction experience in medical/surgical nursing
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred:
- Master’s degree or higher in Nursing.
- Successful teaching experience
- Previous work experience in a fundamental setting such as hospitals, and/or skilled nursing facilities
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: including the following and other duties as needed.
- Assume responsibility for teaching assignments as recommended by the program coordinator and approved by the director and dean.
- Assume responsibility for maintaining all required College records including attendance and grade reports, roll books, etc.
- Compile bibliographies of specialized materials or outside reading assignments as applicable.
- Make recommendations to the Department Chair for supplies, equipment, and equipment repairs.
- Facilitate the learning process by designing and implementing inclusive instructional activities in clinical that are appropriate, meaningful and that maximize student outcomes.
- Provides timely, constructive, and thoughtful written/verbal feedback to students regarding clinical paperwork course performance, and progress toward the achievement of learning outcomes.
- Provide mentorship and support through engagement in clinical learning.
- Assume responsibility for being familiar with and adhering to all college and departmental policies and guidelines.
- Demonstrate practice of fostering a welcoming environment in the clinical setting and among your team, as well as experience working in a diverse environment.
