Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

The Part‑time Clinical Instructor, Nursing, will be responsible for face‑to‑face clinical teaching assignments in clinical settings. The hours and shifts for this position are flexible and can vary but generally fall between the hours of 6 am and 7:30 pm. The salary for this position will be based on experience and academic credentials.

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Nursing Note: Degrees and hours must be from a college accredited by a US Department of Education accepted accrediting agency such as SACSCOC.
  • Two years or more of nursing experience.
  • Unrestricted RN license.
  • Work experience and/or teaching experience in medical/surgical nursing.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing. Note: Degrees and hours must be from a college accredited by a US Department of Education accepted accrediting agency such as SACSCOC.
  • Successful teaching experience.
  • Previous work experience in a fundamentals setting such as hospitals, and/or skilled nursing facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties as assigned

  • Assume responsibility for teaching assignments as designated by the program coordinator and approved by the director and dean.
  • Assume responsibility for maintaining all required College records including attendance and grade reports, roll books, etc.
  • Compile bibliographies of specialized materials or outside reading assignments as applicable.
  • Make recommendations to the Department Chair for supplies, equipment, and equipment repairs.
  • Facilitate the learning process by designing and implementing inclusive instructional activities in clinical that are appropriate, meaningful and that maximize student outcomes.
  • Provide timely, constructive, and thoughtful written/verbal feedback to students regarding clinical paperwork course performance, and progress toward the achievement of learning outcomes.
  • Provide mentorship and support through engagement in clinical learning.
  • Assume responsibility for being familiar with and adhering to all college and departmental policies and guidelines.
  • Demonstrate practice of fostering a welcoming environment in the clinical setting and among your team, as well as experience working in a diverse environment.
