Job summary

State of Louisiana, Southeast LA Veterans Home in Reserve, LA, seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to lead a care unit, implement care plans and administer medications for a 156-bed long-term care facility.

Shifts run 7 a.m.–7:30 p.m. or 7 p.m.–7:30 a.m., with weekend coverage. Compensation includes LPN 1/2/3 pay, bi-weekly amounts, shift differentials, and a $7.00/hr premium for worked hours.

Qualifications

Current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, temporary permit, or NLC/eNLC license.
Experience as lead/charge nurse or supervision recommended.
Ability to implement care plans and perform clinical duties.

Responsibilities

Lead nursing operations on unit and ensure high-quality resident care.
Supervise nursing staff and coordinate with RN Supervisor.
Conduct QA audits and staff in-services to improve care delivery.
Investigate resident complaints and incidents and implement corrective actions.
Admissions, discharges, and shift report duties.

Nursing operations during the 7 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. or 7:00 P.M. TO 7:30 A.M. shifts, including oversight of a care unit, ensuring coverage and high-quality resident care in a 156-bed long-term care facility.
Leads and evaluates nursing staff performance, provides feedback to the RN Supervisor, recommends disciplinary actions when needed, and conflict resolution.
Conducts Quality Assurance audits and staff in-services, promoting continuous improvement in nursing care delivery and adherence to policy and procedure standards.
Investigates and reports resident complaints and incidents, recommending corrective actions and collaborating with RN Supervisor to ensure coordinated care and resident safety
Admission, admits and discharges patients, receives and gives change of shift reports.

Compensation: Special Entrance Rate: LPN 1 - $1558.40 BI-WEEKLY/$19.48 PER HOUR; LPN 2 - $1667.20 BI-WEEKLY/$20.84 PER HOUR; LPN 3 - $1784.00 BI-WEEKLY/$22.30 PER HOUR

Premium Pay: $7.00/HR - Worked Hours Only

Shift Differential: This position qualifies for shift differentials, with rates varying based on shift time, day of the week, and holidays.

Work Schedule: Hours are from Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.-7:30 a.m. to include some weekends and holidays, along with shift work.
