Job summary

NYs Office for People With Developmental Disabilities is seeking a licensed practical nurse to provide nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in New York State or eligible for limited permit.
• Must obtain license within one year if appointed with limited permit (B/C).
• Valid Driver’s license required upon appointment.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, performs nursing care tasks per treatment plans.
• Administers medications and nursing procedures as prescribed.
• Records vital signs and monitors health status for diagnosis and treatment.
• Maintains charts and documents treatments.
• Assists with activities of daily living and hygiene.
• Educates individuals and families regarding health and procedures.
• Monitors supplies and may supervise unlicensed staff.
