Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in PR, communications, journalism, public affairs, marketing, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or related role.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience writing press releases, media pitches, speeches, talking points, and other materials.
• Strong project management and organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience coordinating events and working with external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute media outreach strategies that generate positive earned media.
• Coordinate media interviews, press conferences, and other events.
• Draft, distribute, and track press releases, advisories, pitches, op-eds, and other materials.
• Monitor media coverage and prepare reports measuring performance.
• Support crisis communications planning and stakeholder communications.
• Assist with state capital outreach events and community partnerships.
