Job summary

McLaren Health Care's Inpatient Rehabilitation department seeks a part-time PPS Coordinator to facilitate the IRF-PAI process and ensure accurate admissions data. The role collaborates with coding and the rehabilitation team to maintain compliance with Medicare rules and payers, while delivering patient-focused care.

Working 32 hours per week with daytime shifts (8:00 am - 4:30 pm), some remote work may be possible within a year.

Qualifications

• State licensure/certification in nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech language pathology.
• Associate degree in discipline.
• Two years in related health care field.

Responsibilities

• Predicates the RIC in coordination with coding and the interdisciplinary team and assists the screening process for potential candidates to the Rehabilitation Unit; ensures that patients meet the criteria for admission to the rehabilitation unit.
• Attends the team conferences to comprehensively assess the data gathered for the IRF-PAI and assists in the development of the Individualized Plan of Care.
• Learn and stay abreast of Medicare regulations for the IRF.
• Responsible for the 60% compliance rule reporting and tracking; prepares the annual report for state attestation.
• Establishes and maintains guest relations and customer service.
• Education on the Federal Register requirements for payment through the IRF-PAI submission.
• Completes and submits the IRF-PAI to ensure accurate payment and avoid penalties.
• May obtain pre and re-authorization from payers as needed.
