Job summary

Photon Brothers is seeking an Electrical and Inspection Technician based in San Luis Obispo, CA. The role involves scheduling and conducting jurisdictional inspections for solar and Powerwall installations, plus performing electrical work and minor field corrections to ensure sign-off and operation.

The candidate should have 3–5 years PV experience or an electrical apprenticeship, capable of working in panels, on rooftops, and outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• Electrical experience required.
• 3-5 years of relevant PV experience, or general electrical apprenticeship.
• Comfortable working inside electrical panels and related equipment.
• Ability to work outside in various weather conditions; lift up to 50 pounds; stairs/rooftop access.
• PV design or PV electrical experience preferred.
• PV installation experience preferred.
• Knowledge of local jurisdictional and/or national code requirements preferred.
• Clean driving record; valid license; at least 9 years driving experience.
• Team player with strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform jurisdictional solar, electrical, or building inspections as scheduled.
• Assess job readiness for final inspection and schedule inspections with local building inspector.
• Prepare the job site for inspection and complete punch list items.
• Identify and correct installation deficiencies prior to inspection.
• Perform general electrical work to accommodate Powerwall and energy storage installations.
• Coordinate inspections with customers and jurisdictions; communicate timelines.
• Troubleshoot Powerwall and solar installations.
• Install wireless heat detection and monitoring equipment as required.
• Maintain project milestones in software systems; manage scheduling density for Inspection Techs.
