Qualifications

• Proficiency with data acquisition tools (Panel 4, ETAS or Hioki) and modeling platforms.

Responsibilities

• Test Execution: engine, powertrain, or vehicle chassis dynamometers and emission analyzers.
• Compliance Validation: verify test results against CFR and certification procedures (e.g., FTP, HWFE, US06).
• Data Analysis: analyze emission outputs, PM and fuel economy data to optimize engine performance.
• Troubleshooting: diagnose equipment or vehicle anomalies in controlled test cells and environmental chambers.
• Support on-site teams to ensure facilities support current and new R&D activities.
• Provide Engineering Support for Powertrain Testing Operations.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Powertrain Test Engineer – Lab Operations to support Powertrain Testing and Lab Operations at an automotive R&D facility in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The position will support testing readiness, test execution, laboratory operations, equipment troubleshooting, data analysis, and engineering support for Powertrain R&D activities.

What you’ll be doing

• Test Execution: engine, powertrain, or vehicle chassis dynamometers and emission analyzers.
• Compliance Validation: Verify test results against Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and certification procedures (such as FTP, HWFE, and US06).
• Data Analysis: Analyze emission outputs, particulate matter (PM), and fuel economy data to optimize engine performance.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose equipment or vehicle anomalies in controlled test cells and environmental chambers
• Support on-site teams to ensure facilities are supporting current and new R&D activities.

Requirements:
