Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Palo Alto is seeking an engineer to join the EVDD team, leading daily build and test activities across powertrain, thermal, and vehicle systems. You will provide hands-on direction to technicians and assemble, install, modify, and rework electric powertrain components and related hardware.

You’ll read and interpret drawings, build fixtures, inspect with precision tools, document configurations and test results, and track work in Jira.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Proficiency in prototype system builds, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to lead while contributing to the work and guide technicians.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily build and test activities across powertrain, thermal, and vehicle systems.
• Assemble, install, modify, and rework electric powertrain components and related hardware.
• Support testing, setup, instrumentation, operation, and teardown.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and thermal issues and coordinate findings with Engineering.
• Read drawings, schematics, and test procedures; build fixtures and test equipment.
• Document configurations, test results, issues, and deviations; maintain a safe lab.
• Track work through Jira and Atlassian tools.
