Job summary

Zipline in South San Francisco, CA, seeks an Engineering Technician to support the Battery & Power Electronics team. You will build, test, troubleshoot, and refine hardware prototypes, lab fixtures, and test setups to accelerate development and validation of power systems for autonomous delivery aircraft.

You will work with design and test engineers, assemble prototypes, operate lab equipment, and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and manufacturing readiness.

Qualifications

• Experience building, assembling, troubleshooting, or supporting electromechanical systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and use of hand tools and fabrication equipment.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with wiring harness fabrication, crimping, soldering and connector assembly.
• Familiarity with lab instrumentation including oscilloscopes, multimeters and DAQ systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Prototype development: build, assemble, modify and maintain engineering prototypes and battery systems.
• Fabricate test fixtures and laboratory tooling using drawings and instructions.
• Operate laboratory equipment and perform electrical/mechanical assembly with quality practices.
• Support validation activities and drive improvements to testing workflows.
• Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Test, Manufacturing and Reliability engineers.
