TechStar Group in Kentucky is seeking a Digital Engineering (DE) support engineer for Powertrain Unit projects on a 12-month contract with potential extension. The role emphasizes production preparation for ICEs, hybrids, axles, and other powertrain components, with travel up to 15% domestically.

All PPE will be provided or expenses to client per standard PPE allocations except Steel Toed Boots and Prescription glasses.

What percentage or how often? Yes there will be travel, 15%.
Where will they need to travel? Domestic travel, withing US to other plants. No international planned but would like ability to travel international.
If International, to/from which countries? N/A.
Will it be for meetings/observation? Travel will be for hands on work and meetings / observation.
How soon after the offer will they be required to travel? Travel could be almost immediate

This DE job is focused on improving the completeness and quality of process & equipment planning job activity to achieve reduction in manufacturing cost and production preparation lead-time. This role will support the organization with DE efforts in optimizing & advancing activity from concept/feasibility planning study through manufacturing site activity for process & equipment validation.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager of Unit Project Planning group, the person in this role will support the Production Engineering-Powertrain department's objective to drive innovation in PE to yield best product, value, and experience to all customers.
Experience in project management responsibility (planning & time management, coordination, reporting)
Experience in creating / interpreting product drawings / models, process drawings / models, equipment drawings / models
Intermediate to advanced capability in CAD software (Autodesk AutoCAD Architecture, Inventor, Navisworks, Vault, Revit, ReCap)
Intermediate capability in Microsoft Office Software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project)
Strong Communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)
B.S. in Engineering preferred but also consider Technical Degree in CAE OR 3 + years’ experience in CAE.
Expert in Autodesk applications, in particular AutoCAD Architecture, Inventor Professional, Vault / Vault Data Structure, Revit, ReCap, Navisworks
Creo experience plus point cloud data utilization is a bonus. (Nice to have)
Need recent experience in 2D and 3D tools
Candidate may be asked to complete one on-site skill test once the phone interview is cleared.
Experience in automotive manufacturing, specifically powertrain assembly and machining.
Experience in high volume, automated production.
Experience in manufacturing equipment and process specification.
