Job summary

Pacer Group in Kentucky is seeking a Digital Engineering professional to support Powertrain Unit projects with a strong emphasis on production preparation for ICEs, hybrid transmissions, axles, and related components.

The role requires expertise in AutoCAD Architecture, Inventor, Navisworks, Revit, and ReCap, plus ability to create, interpret, and revise 2D/3D drawings. Collaboration with Production and Engineering teams is essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience in project management responsibility (planning, time management, coordination, reporting)
  • Experience in creating/interpreting product drawings/models, process drawings/models, equipment drawings/models
  • Intermediate to advanced capability in CAD software (AutoCAD Architecture, Inventor, Navisworks, Vault, Revit, ReCap)
  • B.S. in Engineering preferred but also consider Technical Degree in CAE or 3+ years’ experience in CAE
  • Expert in Autodesk applications, including AutoCAD Architecture, Inventor Professional, Vault/Vault Data Structure, Revit, ReCap, Navisworks

Responsibilities

  • Product operation drawing creation and revisions in AutoCAD with Production Engineering team
  • Production line layout creation and maintenance in AutoCAD with Production and Production Engineering Groups
  • 3D model comparisons/overlays in Inventor, Catia, or other 3D software
  • 3D rendering/evaluation of building/equipment models for studies using Navisworks, Revit and other software
  • Production line simulations to confirm line capacity and identify process improvements
  • Point cloud scan data collection/evaluation to support studies
  • Investigation into new tools to improve production engineering accuracy and efficiency

Required Skills/Attributes:

  • Intermediate capability in Microsoft Office Software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project)
  • Strong Communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)
  • B.S. in Engineering preferred but also consider Technical Degree in CAE OR 3 + years’ experience in CAE.
  • Expert in Autodesk applications, in particular AutoCAD Architecture, Inventor Professional, Vault / Vault Data Structure, Revit, ReCap, Navisworks
  • Creo experience plus point cloud data utilization is a bonus. (Nice to have)
  • Need recent experience in 2D and 3D tools
  • Candidate may be asked to complete one on-site skill test once the phone interview is cleared.
Job Summary:
  • The primary responsibility of this role is Digital Engineering (DE) support of Powertrain Unit projects.
  • There will be a strong focus on production preparation elements for Internal Combustion Engines, Hybrid Transmissions, Axles, and other potential Powertrain components.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Product operation drawing creation and revisions in AutoCAD working directly with our Production Engineering team
  • Production line layout creation and maintenance in AutoCAD working directly with Production and Production Engineering Groups, including generation of detailed equipment and utility installation drawing.
  • Product 3D model comparisons and overlays in Autodesk Inventor, Catia, or other 3D software
  • 3D rendering and evaluation of building and equipment models for project studies using Navisworks, Revit and potentially other software packages
  • Production line simulations to confirm line capacity and identify areas for process improvements
  • Point cloud scan data collection and evaluation to support project studies
  • Investigation into new tools to improve current Production Engineering job accuracy and efficiency
Must Haves:
  • Experience in project management responsibility (planning & time management, coordination, reporting)
  • Experience in creating / interpreting product drawings / models, process drawings / models, equipment drawings / models
  • Intermediate to advanced capability in CAD software (Autodesk AutoCAD Architecture, Inventor, Navisworks, Vault, Revit, ReCap)
