Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Electrical Test Engineer in Raymond, OH to lead the development, testing, and verification of powertrain ECUs for automotive applications. This role blends project leadership with hands-on engineering across hardware and software to ensure high-quality electrical performance and regulatory compliance.

The role involves mentoring engineers, designing specifications, planning tests (including EMC), and coordinating with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical engineering foundation with hardware testing experience.
• Experience developing and executing test procedures for electrical systems.
• Practical knowledge of powertrain electronics and ECU testing.
• Ability to write and interpret engineering specifications for ECU hardware/software.
• Familiarity with CAN and automotive diagnostics tools (INCA, etc.).
• Experience EMC testing and verification of electrical performance.

Responsibilities

• Break down project concepts into ECU development activities and plans.
• Correlate project details with stakeholders and negotiate schedules.
• Design specifications for powertrain ECU hardware/software.
• Lead design reviews with technical leadership.
• Mentor engineers on design, testing and compliance.
• Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis on prototypes and vehicles.
• Plan and oversee testing of ECU hardware/software in vehicles.
• Conduct EMC testing and verify compliance requirements.
• Create detailed test reports and present findings to leadership.
• Support engineers in test planning and execution.
