Job summary

Toyota's Powertrain Design (PDE) team is seeking a Design Engineer with a strong interest in driveline systems to develop torque transferring components, including electrified powertrains. You will collaborate with suppliers, NA manufacturing plants, vehicle design groups, and Toyota Japan to drive smooth launches.

Responsibilities include creating validated 3D models, leading design reviews, and building cross-functional relationships to improve cost, mass, durability, and warranty.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or similar tech field.
• Experience with CAD tools and applying GD&T to design and manufacturability.
• Experience in the detailed design and release of prototype and production drawings and supplier specs.

Responsibilities

• Creating validated 3D models, 2D drawings, and supplier spec sheets.
• Leading Design Reviews for responsible parts.
• Developing counter-measures to gaps in cost, mass, durability, strength, and warranty.
• Building relationships with stakeholders across design, PDE, supplier development, purchasing, and plants.
• Managing NA suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of quality parts.
• Improving PDE design process capability to improve quality and delivery.
• Training in the Toyota Way.
