Job summary

Toyota North America is seeking a Design Engineer to support PDE driveline components across vehicle platforms, including electrified powertrains. You will collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing plants, and vehicle design groups to ensure high-quality, on-time launches.

The role requires CAD proficiency (CATIA), GD&T expertise, and experience with prototype and production drawings. Occasional travel up to 25% is expected; onsite with some remote flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience using CAD tools and applying GD&T for design/manufacturability.
• Experience in detailed design and release of prototype and production drawings and supplier specs.
• Knowledge of automotive manufacturing methods (aluminum/iron casting, forging, machining, thermoplastics, rubber molding).
• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Create validated 3D models, 2D drawings, and supplier specs using standard design processes.
• Lead design reviews for responsible parts and demonstrate function and targets.
• Develop counter-measures for cost, mass, durability, strength, and warranty based on data.
