Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking an Equipment Operator to support heavy equipment operation in the construction and maintenance of overhead electrical distribution systems. You will assist a team in building, repairing, and maintaining powerlines while ensuring safety and professionalism.

The role requires readiness to obtain a CDL permit within 60 days, ability to operate heavy equipment, and willingness to travel and work extended hours in varied weather and locations. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days of employment.
• Able to operate heavy equipment used in powerline construction.
• Able to read/write and communicate effectively.
• Able to travel long distances on short notice.
• Able to work for extended periods in various locations.
• Able to lift in-excess of 50 lbs.
• Willing to work overtime including weekends and holidays.
• Willing to work outside of the normal work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform duties during construction, maintenance, or repair of overhead lines.
• Inspect rubber goods and PPE for proper use.
• Know when to wear PPE and safety gear.
• Strings overhead wire and sets poles and anchors.
• Assist with installing transformers, arrestors, cross-arms, insulators, switches and switchgear.
• Assist in replacing fuses and clearing faulted circuits.
• Maintain vehicles, equipment and tools in good condition.
• Capable of working at heights and in confined spaces.
• Follow directions and understand basic materials used in line work.
