Job summary

Air Force Materiel Command in Wisconsin is seeking a POWERED SUPPORT SYSTEMS MECHANIC LEADER to guide three or more workers in trades and labor tasks on a full-time, continuing basis.

You will test, troubleshoot, repair, adapt, and modify Nuclear Missile Weapon Systems and components in Launch and Missile Alert Facilities, install and maintain air conditioning units at ICBM sites, and perform complex Missile System entry/exit procedures with secure encryption devices.

Job description

The primary purpose of this position, POWERED SUPPORT SYSTEMS MECHANIC LEADER, WL-5378-11, is to lead three or more workers to accomplish trades and/or labor work on a substantially full time and continuing basis.

Key Responsibilities

On a regular and recurring basis, utilizes trades and/or labor knowledge and skill to lead a team of three or more workers in performance of various related work. Perform nonsupervisory trades and/or labor work that is usually of the same kind and level as members of the work crew led. Test, troubleshoot, repair, adapt, and modify various unique Nuclear Missile Weapon Systems and components in both Launch and Missile Alert Facilities.

Install, maintains, repair, troubleshoot, modify, inoperable or malfunctioning air conditioning units at ICBM missile alert facilities and launch facilities. Perform complex Missile System site entry and exit procedures, using Missile Entry Control System compounded with a unique Missile Electronic Encryption Device that does not allow for error.
