Job summary

LAZ Parking is seeking a Maintenance/Power Washing Technician to support the maintenance team across garages in New Jersey. The role combines hands-on maintenance with customer service while adhering to safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities include following procedures, reporting safety conditions, resolving problems, processing work orders, and maintaining inventory. Must be English-proficient and hold a valid driver’s license; physically able to handle demanding duties.

Qualifications

• Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
• Must be proactive with strong personal drive, people person and must be willing to lead by example.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, and work orders.
• Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing priorities and assignments.

Responsibilities

• Follow the Company Standard Operating Procedures as well as policies regarding professionalism, uniforms, and grooming standards.
• Note and report any safety condition relating to equipment or place of employment.
• Analyze and resolve work problems, assist co-workers in solving work problems.
• Process and carry out maintenance work order forms/requested.
• Report all completed/uncompleted work performed to Operations Manager daily.
• Assist with keeping an accurate inventory of supplies and equipment.

The Spirit of the Position:

TheMaintenance Technicianwill provide back-up and be responsible for supporting the maintenance team in various garages throughout New York and New Jersey. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for a combination of hands-on maintenance and customer service, while following maintenance and operational compliance.

Principal Job Description:

What We Do

Our FM team handles a broad range of work, depending on the season, no two days are the same:

• Preventive maintenance (maintain things before they break)
• Electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry and support with general repairs
• Pressure washing, line striping and facility beautification
• Low voltage: AV, IT, POS, CCTV, parking revenue-control system support
• Marketing and signage installations
• Winter snow clearing and salt spreading activity
• Special projects and facility improvements

Where We Work

• Throughout the five boroughs of New York City & across New Jersey: from Asbury Park to Englewood
• Work takes place within active parking garages, open parking lots and within public and private properties

When We Work

• Primarily Monday through Friday
• Day shifts and night shifts are available depending on position and operational needs
• Some projects or emergencies can require travel and/or schedule flexibility

• Work is scheduled, planned and coordinated by our own Supervisors and Managers so teams know where they are going and what needs to get done
• LAZ provides all tools, materials, uniforms and PPE needed to perform the work safely and efficiently
• Teams have access to work vehicles and specialty trucks/equipment depending on the assignment
• Safety is a priority while working around active parking operations, vehicles, customers and the public
• Much of what we do happens behind the scenes, maintaining and improving the spaces our coworkers and customers use every day

Requirements:

Physical Demands:

• Willingness to work in the elements – heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
• Ability to lift, push and pull at least 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk and run for extended periods of time.
