Job summary

K&A Engineering is seeking a Construction Manager to join our team across Indiana, Kentucky or Ohio. You will oversee transmission construction activities, ensure safety and compliance, manage resources and coordinate outages with stakeholders.

The role emphasizes QA inspections, documentation, and contractor performance feedback. The ideal candidate has experience in transmission projects, familiarity with industry regulations, and the ability to obtain necessary clearances.

Qualifications

• Experience in transmission construction or maintenance environments.
• Familiarity with NERC, EPC and state utility regulators.
• Ability to obtain clearance or Hot Line tag on Duke Energy's system.
• Experience performing health & safety observations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety, environmental, scope, work plan and schedule compliance.
• Identify and resolve material issues or shortages.
• Perform EH&S safety audits for contractor compliance.
• Verify pre-job briefings and observations are used effectively.
• Validate crew timesheets for T&E work upon request.
• Report safety and environmental incidents per Duke Energy practices.
• Conduct QA inspections during construction to meet specs.
• Support documentation and as-built drawings submission.
• Provide contractor performance feedback and status reports.
• Coordinate outages with customers and operating personnel.
• Assess project risk and possibly manage multiple projects.
