K&A Engineering in Rochester, New York, seeks a Construction Manager to lead high-voltage transmission projects. You will supervise field crews, subcontractors, and equipment, ensure energized work protocols and safety standards, and coordinate with project leadership to keep milestones on track.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management with 7+ years in transmission line construction, including 2+ years in energized environments, plus travel

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent education with 7 years relevant experience.
• Five years’ experience in a supervisory capacity preferred.
• Experience: 5–7 years in transmission line construction, with at least 2 years in energized work environments.
• MS Word and MS Project (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Supervise construction activities on high-voltage transmission lines while ensuring safety and compliance with energized work protocols.
• Supervise field crews, subcontractors, and equipment to execute tasks near or under live electrical conditions.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards, including OSHA, NESC, and utility-specific energized work procedures.
• Conduct pre-job briefings and hazard assessments before any work begins.
• Monitor work progress, resolve field issues, and report daily activities to project leadership.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and switching orders.
• Lead tailboard meetings, identify job hazards, and implement mitigation strategies.
