Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation is seeking a Trading Operations Analyst to join the North America Power team. The role focuses on market analysis, trading support, electricity cost reporting, and organizing large datasets to enable clear internal communication.

Ideal candidates are analytical, detail-oriented, highly organized, and eager to build a foundation in power trading, refinery electricity exposure, and NA power markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Commercial, Risk, Trading Analytics, Marine, Scheduling, or Marketing.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to organize large amounts of market, cost, and operational data.
• Clear and concise written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support power supply planning for refinery and industrial electricity needs across North America.
• Support the Power Book Lead and trading team with daily tracking of power positions, market exposure, refinery electricity costs, and related activity.
• Track day-ahead and real-time power prices, forward curves, congestion, basis, load, generation outages, weather, gas prices, and market events.
• Develop and maintain models, dashboards, reports, and tools for visibility into market exposure and hedge performance.
• Interface with back/middle offices and external contacts on trade reconciliation and market intelligence.
