Hardware Sales Inc. is seeking a dedicated Retail Sales Associate for the Power Tools Department in Bellingham, WA. You will assist customers with power tool needs, provide expert recommendations, and help them find the right products to complete their projects.

The role emphasizes excellent customer service, knowledge of power tools, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced retail environment. Prior hardware experience is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a hardware store preferred.
• Knowledge of power tools and their applications is highly desired.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Basic math skills for inventory management, measurements, and sales.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, identify their power tool needs, and provide informed recommendations and solutions.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of our power tool product inventory, including related accessories.
• Offer technical assistance to customers, answering questions about product features, specifications, and operating procedures.
• Keep the department well-organized, including restocking shelves, arranging displays, and ensuring pricing accuracy.
• Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and ensure the safe handling and storage of power tools.
• Assist in monitoring inventory levels and report low stock items to the department manager or assist with purchasing.
• Stay up-to-date with new power tool products, technologies, and industry trends through ongoing training and education.
• Be comfortable with computers and navigate multiple programs for inventory management, sales, and ordering.
