Job summary

TEEMA Group is seeking a Facilities Electrical Technician in Tempe, AZ to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical distribution equipment, including switchgear, MCCs, panelboards, and generators. You will troubleshoot faults, run electrical tests, and support installation and commissioning of facility electrical systems.

The role requires 3+ years of experience with low‑voltage systems, CMMS usage, and adherence to NFPA 70/70E and OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industrial or commercial electrical maintenance experience.
• Strong working knowledge of low‑voltage (<600V) power distribution systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical single‑line diagrams, wiring schematics, and panel schedules.
• Proficiency with electrical test instruments and safe electrical work practices.
• Experience using CMMS systems for work orders and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Establish and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical distribution equipment including switchgear, MCCs, panelboards, breakers, disconnects, transformers, UPS units, and emergency generators.
• Inspect and maintain grounding systems, bonding conductors, cable trays, bus ducts, and protective devices.
• Conduct electrical testing such as insulation resistance, continuity checks, torque verification, load measurements, and IR thermography.
• Ensure all meters and testing equipment are maintained and calibrated.
• Troubleshoot faults in power circuits, motor circuits, breakers, relays, and distribution components.
• Respond to electrical emergencies and power disturbances to restore operations safely and efficiently.
• Support installation, conduit/wiring, cable pulls, and panel installations according to electrical codes.
• Assist contractors and engineering teams during construction, startup, and commissioning.
• Verify labeling, phasing, torquing, and proper installation of new electrical equipment.
• Follow NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 70E, and OSHA electrical safety requirements including arc‑flash boundaries, PPE, and LOTO procedures.
• Maintain accurate electrical documentation, panel schedules, breaker lists, and maintenance records in CMMS.
• Participate in safety inspections, electrical audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance.
• Conduct routine electrical rounds to assess system status and identify hazards.
• Support system startups, shutdowns, load transfers, and power restoration activities.
• Collaborate with other facilities teams on cross‑functional maintenance when electrical support is needed.
