Job summary

JDC Power Systems, LLC in Irving, TX is seeking a Power Systems Field Commissioning Technician to diagnose and commission on-site electrical infrastructure, from medium-voltage breakers to PLC I/O during startups and handover to customers.

This role requires frequent travel to customer sites, troubleshooting, repairing equipment, training operators, capturing field data, and coordinating with teams to meet deadlines and service SLAs, all while maintaining strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in field service focusing on power systems or industrial controls.
• Hands-on troubleshooting with transformers and circuit breakers.
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• NFPA 70E and OSHA 30 or similar credentials are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer facilities to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical equipment including transformers, circuit breakers, LV/MV switchgear, and PLC-controlled systems.
• Run diagnostics to isolate faults, perform corrective actions, and restore systems to service quickly and safely.
• Support startups and commissioning activities, confirming functionality and alignment with customer specifications.
• Serve as the on-site point of contact—addressing technical concerns and ensuring a positive customer experience.
• Provide basic end-user training on operation and preventive maintenance.
• Capture field data, test reports, and performance feedback to inform continuous improvement.
• Track time, work performed, and parts usage; coordinate with teammates to meet deadlines and service SLAs.
• Leverage remote troubleshooting tools when appropriate to reduce downtime and expedite resolutions.
