Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Power Systems Protection Engineer for our Power Systems Engineering team in Wendell, NC. You will design, test, and commission protection and control systems for high‑voltage substations and power automation projects.

The role requires a BS in electrical/electronic/CS engineering and 5+ years in power automation, with travel up to 70%. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic/computer science engineering.
• Five or more years of engineering experience in power automation for electrical substations.
• Experience leading technical projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure and test automation and control systems for complex power systems and substations.
• Execute FAT and SAT with testing procedures and commissioning scripts.
• Develop applications using IEC 61850, MODBUS, DNP3 and other protocols.
• Create control logic diagrams, network architectures, and functional design docs for protection and control schemes.
• Lead project teams and provide on-site support and commissioning expertise.
