Job summary

ABB Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer with a Power Systems background to join our Houston team. You will engage in substation design, protection and controls, and power management system projects across multiple disciplines.

The role offers hybrid work in Houston, TX, with travel to customer and manufacturing sites about 25% of the time. You will support FAT/SAT, field startup, and project execution while advancing in power infrastructure knowledge.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
FE exam completed or in progress with interest in PE licensure.
2+ years of experience supporting multidisciplinary engineering projects.
Experience with power system studies, substation design, or protection/control system design.

Responsibilities

Support engineering projects ensuring successful delivery with technical leadership and adherence to scope, schedule, and quality.
Develop, review, and approve electrical engineering deliverables.
Attend customer technical meetings, design reviews, and coordination meetings.
Manage engineering scope, risks, schedules, and change with Project Management.
Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, and startup activities.
Coordinate multi-disciplinary vendors to align with project requirements.
