Job summary

ERCOT is seeking a Power Systems Modeling Engineer to develop transmission system models used in real-time operations and planning. You will work with NMMS data, validate submissions, and build modeling tools in Java, C# .NET, and Python.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and experience with software development in C#, Java, or Python, plus knowledge of SQL and version control tools (Git/BitBucket, Jira).

Qualifications

• Has experience developing and maintaining software in C#, Java, or Python.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
• Familiarity with SQL and version control tools (Git/Bitbucket, Jira).

Responsibilities

• Develops transmission system models for real-time operations and planning.
• Develops modeling tools using Java, C# .NET and Python to validate data and automate modeling processes.
• Manages NMMS data exchanges and model maintenance with cross-functional teams.
• Provides training and mentoring within ERCOT's Engineering Development Program and teams.
