Job summary

Electric Reliability Council of Texas is seeking a Power Systems Modeling Engineer to develop transmission system models for real‑time operations and transmission planning. You will work on NMMS data exchange, validate data submissions, and automate modeling using Java, C# .NET, and Python.

You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, gain experience across ERCOT’s modeling programs, and contribute to modeling tool development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with developing and maintaining software in C#, Java, or Python.
• Preferred: PowerWorld, PSS/E, or ASPEN; SQL; Git/BitBucket and Jira; strong communication; independent work.

Responsibilities

• Develops operations models from NMMS and coordinates data exchange with NDSWG members.
• Develops modeling software tools in Java, C# .NET, Python to validate data and automate modeling.
• Provides training and mentoring; collaborates with multiple ERCOT groups; drafts changes to protocols and documents.
• Collaborates with stakeholders across ERCOT organizations.
