Arup is a global consultancy driving sustainable futures. The Power Systems Electrical Engineering Intern role offers hands-on experience in design, analysis, and simulation of electrical power systems including renewables, with mentorship from senior staff.

You will assist with calculations, documentation, and learning opportunities across solar, substation, and BESS projects while developing practical skills in PSCAD, PSS/E, ETAP, SKM, and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with a focus on power systems.
• Familiarity with PSCAD, PSS/E, ETAP, SKM or similar is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD will be a plus.
• Ability to prioritize effectively and stay organized in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, analysis, and simulation of electrical power systems, including renewables (solar, wind, battery storage).
• Perform power system studies like short circuit, cable ampacity, Arc flash, Load flow, and energy yield.
• Contribute to the design of solar facilities, substations, and BESS under senior staff guidance.
• Carry out grounding, short circuit, cable ampacity, load flow, ARC Flash, and voltage drop calculations.
