Job summary

Knobelsdorff, a Minnesota-based turnkey contractor in Automation, Electric, Energy, and Power Services, seeks an electrical engineering student to design and analyze electrical power systems and support projects from concept to commissioning.

You will prepare documentation, collaborate with managers and field teams, and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment. The internship starts May 2027.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Exposure to electrical power systems design and analysis.
• Familiarity with power system analysis software (SKM/EasyPower/ETAP).
• Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and best practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong time management to meet deadlines in a project-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical power systems that meet project requirements and codes.
• Perform power system studies and simulations to analyze performance and identify optimizations.
• Support or lead power system projects from concept to commissioning.
• Prepare technical documentation including specs, calculations, reports, and drawings.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, field teams, and clients for successful delivery.
• Assist with testing and commissioning activities, on-site travel and remote technical support.
